It shouldn’t be surprising to any one who pays attention to the media to hear that Apple (AAPL) garners a disproportionate share of technology coverage. Undoubtedly to its competitors it is a annoyance. However even a cursory glance at industry trends shows Apple making headway in any number of new areas. This has produced a situation where Apple’s market cap and growth prospects are now outliers compared to other similarly large companies. So even if you are not a fan of Apple products it is worthwhile keeping an eye on the company, and its stock, because it now plays such an important role in the markets.
