Dedicated readers of Abnormal Returns will remember we are highly skeptical of most investment-related books. This is in large part because most of them overpromise and underdeliver. After some exposure to the blog associated with the book, we just ordered a copy of Curtis Faith’s new book, The Way of the Turtle.

We were therefore gratified to read Brett Steenbarger’s review of the book over at TraderFeed. Dr. Brett clearly enjoyed the book and makes a number of interesting points including:

If I had to identify a single theme for the book, it might be this: Relatively simple trading systems can provide a tradable edge, but it is psychologically difficult for traders to follow these systems and exploit that edge.

We have made similar points in regards to quantitative investing. Not surprisingly, we are looking forward to reading the entire book. We anticipate an additional posting once we had a chance to sit down and read it in its entirety.
