Everyone intuitively knows that the space you are in affects your mood and thinking. This was driven home in a post by Seth Godin who writes:
It might be a garage or a sunlit atrium, but the place you choose to do what you do has an impact on you.
Given that most independent traders now trade at home it is possible to craft your space in a manner in which you choose. An active, news-driven trader may want to have access to more screens, including financial television. On the other hand a “minimalist trader” may want to have fewer screens and less distractions.

In either case the space you create will affect the way you work, trade and view the world. As Godin writes:
Pick your place, on purpose.
