Netflix was once the US Postal Service’s fifth largest customer. Now it’s shutting its DVD service.

“Those we admire most in sports, business, politics, and entertainment tend to share one quality: They knew when it was time to quit, time to pass the baton, time to disappear, in a way that preserved, even enhanced, their reputation. Nothing diminishes past success like overstaying your welcome.” – Morgan Housel

Chaser:

“It’s sad when you get to the end, because it’s been a big part of all of our lives for so long,” Hank Breeggemann, the general manager of Netflix’s DVD division, said in an interview. “But everything runs its cycle. We had a great 25-year run and changed the entertainment industry, the way people viewed movies at home.” – NYTimes

Netflix is letting its remaining customers keep the last few DVDs they received. Nice.
